Hello! I just had my 18th month labs and everything looks great, except my K-1, D 25-Hydroxy and B-12 came back high.  K1 was 2.3, D 25-Hydroxy was 148 and B-12 was 1470.  I know some people say it is better to keep these in the higher range, but are they too high???

B12 - is nice, IMO

D and K are too high...I would cut some supplements...

This is a good question for your doctor.

It is a good question for my doctor and I have an appointment with him on Thursday.  I will see what his suggestion is as well as other veteran's personal experience has been, before making my decision regarding what I should.  As you probably are aware, sometimes bariatric doctors give advise that goes against what veteran's of the various surgeries have found to be true.  There have been times, especially in the beginning, that suggestions from veterans on this site have been more beneficial than my own doctor's advice.

I found out the hard way that i needed more B-12, even though I was always in 'normal' range. I was getting tingly fingers and toes and it all came on at once, so I knew it was a nutrient. Doc kept telling me your normal, but I found out on here it is better to be on the high end of B-12. So much better... no more tingling.

Thank you for your response.  I've heard that a lot on here, regarding B-12.  My numbers were even higher for the B-12, 6 months ago. I used to take a sublingual twice a week, so for the past 6 months I've cut back to once a week.  I'm going to see what my doctor suggests, but I don't want it to go down too much.  It seems to be a fine line between too much and too little.

On another note, congrats on your weightloss success. You have always been one I've looked to for inspiration!!

I can feel when my B12 gets below 800.

I would love my B12 to be over 1000..

At the same time - if you take B12 once a week - make sure your labs are done at least a few days after your took B12.

I get weekly B12 shots. If I get tested a day or 2 after my shot - B12 shows much higher than app one week after. Having lab work a week after can show my doc why I need the weekly shot.

Not only B12 but also your MCV level may indicate of you take enough of B12. I.e. mine MCV is almost always high...even with normal B12 indication to my doc I do need my B12 shots. (most people do fine or better than fine with monthly B12 shots - I need weekly)

Very good point. I took it on Monday and had my labs on Tuesday.  I'll make sure to tell my doc. Thank you again!!!
