Hi!

I had Lap Band surgery in 2007 - had it removed in 2011 or 2012 - really no BIG problems except I could never get a good fill - it was only 4 cc's.  Either too tight or too lose.  Now in 2016 I am 20+ pounds heavier than I was before the lap band.  My question.....another band....10CC's - bypass or sleeve???

It's my understanding that the band will be discontinued soon, and that most doctors are really shying away from it. I do have a friend that loves hers, but aside from her, I have heard many more negative stories about them.

You need to do your research on RNY versus VSG. Do you have reflux? Because if you do, I think that your doctor will probably suggest the RNY. I chose to have the RNY for many reasons, but I do know many people are happy with VSG.

I can tout many of the reasons to get RNY, and I'm sure someone else can give you just as many good reasons to get VSG. But you have to know what your triggers are, your way of eating, and what's most comfortable with you. Either way, you have to really change your eating habits and way of thinking before you have either one of them.

The brain is a mighty tool that we can't get operated on... must have that in order to succeed with either surgery.
