What kind of Protein Shake do you use. I have tried Premier Protein in Vanilla which I find to be very sweet. I have also try Body Fortress on Chocolate which tastes good but seems to thicken the longer it sits. Thank you for your input in advance.

you're going to get about a hundred different answers here because everyone's tastes are so different, but my person faves are Unjury products and Syntrax Nectar products. I can't taste the protein in either brand.  If you can, find some sample packs of different brands and flavors to see what you like - it'd be awful to get stuck with a huge $40 tub of something you hate.  GNC has some sample packs - or often you can order them from the companies or amazon.

What products have you tried from Unjury and Syntrax Nectar? Thank you for your reply.

I think all of them.  I got sample packs from both companies, and I'm pretty sure they sent me an individual serving packet for each of their flavors.  You can only buy Unjury products directly from them - so check their Web site.  They have sample packs available for purchase.  I bought my Syntrax sample pack from Syntrax's Web site, but I think I've also seen them on amazon.

BTW - with Syntrax, you want the Nectar line, which is 100% whey protein isolate.  Their other line, Matrix, is a protein blend.  Blends might be fine when you're a lot further out and getting most/all of your protein from food, but early out, when you're getting most of it from protein shakes, you need the isolate as it's more easily absorbed.  So stick with Nectar.

P.S.  I've also seen individual serving packets of Syntrax Nectar at Vitamin Shoppe, but they don't carry all the flavors - just 3 or 4.  But they're probably the most popular ones (e.g., Truffle (chocolate), vanilla, lemon tea, fuzzy navel)

I agree with catwoman7...skip the prepared drinks and get unflavored protein powder and make your own.  That way you can control the sweetness and use flavorings, cocoa, peanut butter, etc, to vary the flavors to suit your taste.  PLUS you can mix it with non-sweet things like broth or cottage cheese or whatever when you get sick of the sweet stuff!

I really like Unjury -- it's really yummy and I didn't find it as sweet as the Premier Protein. Aside from the usual sweet flavors ( I like Strawberry & Chocolate), it also comes in Chicken Broth flavor for a more savory shake if you have to do a liquid diet for some time.  I found that to be really mild flavor though, not my favorite.

Bariatric Advantage is also good; I like the orange, it takes like drinking a creamsicle.

Call me lazy, but for convienence I like Premier Protein, especially the banana cream. I like Combat, Necter Matrix cookies and cream as well.

I like Optimum Nutrition's Double Rich Chocolate because I find it to be a darker chocolate, so less sweet.  I mix it with unsweetened almond milk.  Yum.

In the interest of making your decision as confusing as possible,  I vote for Gold Standard.  They have a bunch of flavors, and the sweetness will vary from flavor to flavor.  Their Extreme Milk Chocolate is as close as I have come to Nestles Quik without getting into caloric trouble.  If you want something chocolate and a little less sweet, their Double Rich Chocolate seems to be less sweet, at least according to my very subjective taste buds.

Buy the smallest quantities you can of whatever you want to try.  That way, if you don't like it, you aren't out a lot.
