PLEASE HELP hernias tmi

if you can what does a hernia feel like I am 5 weeks post op lap rny where my insision is it just swelled up and I have stapping pain there that comes and goes it hurts real bad. I see the Dr tomorrow I had not had pain since I came home from the hospital 5 weeks ago last night it was as hard as a rock then puss came out today its all swollen in one area it hurts bad can it be a henria
