Well, I just bought a new bike. I had a nice Raleigh mountain bike that was stolen out of my unlocked she'd about 2 years ago.  So now that I'm loosing some weight I will be getting back to riding.  I ended up getting a Fuji hybrid that leans more towards a road bike since I never actually road my mountain bike offroad. I will be picking it up when I get back in town Friday.  Wish me luck

Great idea...I am in process of paying off a bike I have on layaway..a Harro bike which is a hybrid as well...little pricey ($800) but sure it will be worth it!

That's awesome! Good luck and let us know how you do!! I'm picking up my friend's Cervelo Dual from getting tuned up in the shop at the end of the month.... basically "fostering" her bike to see if I can actually ride (and like it?) before investing a wad of cash into one of my own!

if you are investing a WAD of cash like I did. My best piece of advice is go to a good LBS that does guru, reteul or some professional FITTING not Sizing.  This is ypicall a couple hundred but a good bike shop will credit this towards your purchase.  From this they can give you a list of Bikes and Sizes that will work for you.  Bikes are like running shoes, not all bikes are designed to fit everyone.  You have Long and Short or Short and tall.  This can save you a lot of pain, frustration and wasted money.

I did not know this when I bought my bike and spent 1K last year in upgrading components to get it to fit right.

Have fun on the bike.  I bought a mountain bike about 5 months ago after 30 years of not being on a bike.  I ended up buying my wife and grand kids bikes so we can go on the trails on the weekends.

BOOM!  We expect Bike porn when you pick it up.  Once you get used o riding if you haven't already got them get clipless pedals and good bike shoes, a good seat and cycle shorts and you will LOVE time on the bike.
