Hey - just thought I would put in my two cents.

I am by no means an expert - but that seems a bit high unless your lifestyle/work is very active.

From what I've read (and who says you can believe everything on this site) I would say it would be more like 1500 - 2000...?

I would contact your nutritionist at whatever centre you're at and see what they say.

Cheers!

I agree that it seems high even though I am extremely active.

I have reached out to my nutritionist.

Thanks!

I am very active, and I have My Fitness Pal set for 1200 calories a day. I might go over, but usually not more than 1,500 (and that's with running 15k). I'm in maintenance, and training for a marathon.

Surgery March 23/2011. Completed three full marathons and two half marathons, two half Ironman distances. Completed my first Full Ironman distance (4 km swim, 180 km bike, 42.2 km (full marathon) run) in Muskoka August 30/2015. Next Ironman Lake Placid July 23/2017!

I am guessing about 1600-1900 per day, some where in the cobwebs of my brain the quantity of 140% of a female's recommended is ours but I could be all wet (and often am).

I would call myself moderately active. I'm 5'11 and I'm usually eating 1800-2000 cals a day to maintain my weight at 11 months out.  I think it depends on whether you want to lose or maintain.  If you are still trying to lose, than go lower.  If you want to maintain your loss, I think its a process of trial and error with your calories over a few months.  You'll figure out what amount keeps you where you want to be.  When I wanted to stop losing I started at 1500 and then found I had to keep nudging them up till I found my sweet spot in the 1800-2000 range.
