CANCELLATION LIST
HI ALL,
Just wondering if this happened to anyone...
My surgery date is on April 24th and I just got a call from TWH asking me If I wanted to get surgery done MONDAY... Feb 27... in 3 days.... She said no OPT FAST fast.. I would just a diabetic shake at the pharmacy and drink over the weekend and I needed to be at the hospital at 1pm today.
Its too short notice... I cant do that.
So, I am wondering if when put on cancellation list if its always this short notice if a new date is available? Anyone else got a call like that??

Sorry, I don't have the answer to that - but I would personally LOVE to have that call. I would drop everything and RUN! HA HA. But that is only because I have a bit of a time constraint on when I can actually get surgery due to workplace time off and my support people being able to be there for me.
but I am interested in finding out the answer to that question.

I know from being at the surgeon appt today they were having some problems with the people being transfered to guelph.. but still having surgery dates at TWH.. and the ones at TWH not being cancelled.. or rescheduled to someone else. So not sure if it's always that soon for the cancellation.. but I would love a call like that..lol As it is... got my date today for June 12th.. seems like such a long time away..lol

Watch out for a cancellation call within 4 weeks from surgeon appt.
Did they expect you to be blue to immediately answer while on the line? I would at least want to be able to consult my support person! That is very short notice. I hope they were able to find someone. My apt with the surgeon is theirs Friday. Hoping it will open up a slot earlier than mid June. It really seems that we move through this process based solely on time and place. I find it so frustrating to see people move so quickly through while I was referred March of last year. I need this by May.
