Surgery Date!!!
Hi everyone
I had my surgeon appointment today and I have been APPROVED for surgery!! 
For those of you wondering, the surgeon appointment is fairly straightforward. I was weighed and had my blood pressure and pulse oximetry measured. I had a lovely chat with Sharon (she is SO sweet), and we went through whether I had had any changes in health or medication since my last visit (I had not). She gave me my pre-op and surgery dates there and then and told me I would have to do 3 weeks of Opti (actually SlimTime in my case but Opti is shorter to type!).
Then along came Dr. Reider (one of Dr. Urbach's fellows) to talk to me, he started by asking if I had any questions and answered those I had. We talked a bit about what the best option for me would be, possible complications (because I must always know the worst possibilities), and then went through the forms and I signed off my consent forms for RNY with the possibility for sleeve if it was indicated during the surgery. He then told me that I only had to do 2 weeks of Opti and changed Sharon's note in my file. I definitely was not going to argue about having to do less Opti!
I also spoke with some folks who are running a research study in conjunction with the surgeons and discussed whether I wanted to participate in the study.
That was it. I had maybe 10-15 min with Sharon, maybe 10 minutes with the doctor and about 20 minutes with the research study folks. I was there for just over an hour.
So, surgery on August 17th!!! Yayyyyyy!!! (5 days before my husband's 40th birthday! Oh dear, poor guy!!)

Referral to Guelph Feb/13, Sleep study and all bloodwork and ultrasound May/13, orientation July/13. Nurse, NUT,SW Sept/13, 2nd NUT, nurse and SW, 3rd round and cleared for surgery Dec/13. Pre-op Apr 7/14, Surgeon May 2/14, Opti Jul 3/14, surgery Jul 17/14.

Congrats on getting your surgery date. Not that long to wait they must have finally gotten caught up since i went through (they were working on it). Lots of changes to come, embrace them they won't be easy, but keep working through and the results will be great.
