How far out did you schedule your surgery? I have 10 lbs. more to loose but it's coming off sooooooo slow.

I had a consultation about a month after I thought I was at goal (I lost a few more pounds between then and surgery). So I was just a couple of months out from goal when I did it (and was very happy I did).

I'm eager to be "done" I guess or maybe it's a little ocd. I'm reading, reading, reading, thank you everyone for the immense amount of great information.

Surgeons will vary on how long they want you to be at goal. Mine said 3-4 months. I was 6 months out when I had surgery.

When I talked to PS's most wanted me to be at a stable weight for about 6 months although some said more than a year. The reason is that losing or gaining weight after PS can change the results. You certainly could have preliminary consults with surgeons but I would wait a while and figure out where your body is comfortable.

I scheduled mine when I was 4 months at a stable weight, but the actual surgery was 2 months later.

My weight loss ended in December, and I met with my first plastic surgeon in January. After that meeting I was very excited to get plastics done, but realized timing for me was going to be key (I have a will be 3 year old at home ) so I didn't dive into anything right away. And I am glad I didn't because it gave me a chance to see what life is like when the weight loss stops, adjusting my battle to maintenance rather then weight loss.

Now I am scheduled to go in this summer, so I'll be like 7 months at maintenance weight, which is a length of time both my surgeon and I are comfortable with.

I keep watching Skin Tight from TLC, and watching people regain after their surgeries is heartbreaking/scary!
