setting up my avitar...help?

 I could use some help with adding my pic.   It seems no matter which pic I try to put up, it always tells me it is too large.  I can't seem to figure out how to "shrink" it.  I have tried several pics and every one says the same thing.  Any suggestions?

I just used Paint on my PC. You can also Google 'resize avatar' and you'll get lots of options.

When it says to large it is probably referring to the amount computer memory needed to store it (resolution or megapixels) not the physical measurements...try saving the picture in a different format such as jpeg or another type that is not so memory intensive.

Once you download it, open up the picture you are trying to use and resize it to the appropriate size.
