Need Support :(

I am almost 3 months out of surgery. I have lost 58 pounds, but I have only lost two pounds in the last 4 weeks. I am still reeling from complications after surgery, from finding out my mother has Stage IV breast cancer, my school, and issues that my children are dealing with at  their school. I feel totally overwhelmed and I have been making bad food choices. I don't overeat, but instead of eating a whole meal, I will eat a few crackers or a handfull of corn puffs. I have eaten a whole pack of the Skinny Cow caramel clusters. I am sure that these bad choices are why my weight loss had stalled out. I do not want to fail at this surgery and although I have lost some weight, I still have a significant amount to go and I am so worried that I will not get to a healthy weight.

I have talked to a counselor and it unfortunately has not been helpful and I attend the support group my surgeon offers. Does anyone have any advice? I am at my wits end.

Thank you in advance=)

Can you clean out all "bad" food from the house?

yep clean out the bad foods and really...the choice is up to you and there is only two...eat good foods or eat bad foods.  How bad do you want to lose your weight?  Only you can make that decision.  Start snacking on cheeses and meat sticks instead of junk thats not good for you.  And good luck...hope your mom's cancer gets resolved..and your kids also...start taking care of yourself so you can be a whole healthy person for the people who need you and a good role model to your kids.

This is where you have to make a decision:  To put your health first, or to let life continue to be an excuse for not doing so.

Bottom line:  life will continue to throw curve balls.  You either take control and decide that no matter what, your eating and exercise plan are so important to you that you will not allow anything to derail them, or you continue to cave in and turn to food and excuses when you don't do what you know you need to do.

This is hard, and it is not a magic bullet.  Every time less than quality food makes its way into your house or your mouth, you made a conscious decision to allow it.  STOP the madness!  Do not buy the things you know you shouldn't eat.  Prepare your meals from good healthy items and measure out what you should eat.  If you have overwhelming feelings that make you want to turn to eating, force yourself to do something else:  go brush your teeth and wash your mouth with Listerine (nothing tastes good after that!), take a bubble bath, go for a walk/run, paint your nails (can't get food with wet nails), pluck your brows, organize your cabinets/closets, etc.

The thing you are missing here is that YOU ARE IN CONTROL AND YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN STOP THIS INSANITY.  That alone should make you feel good--you only need rely on yourself to be successful.  To hell with all the problems, blah, blah, blah, you are worth this and must take the bull by the horns and make YOU the #1 priority.

Also I learned from a weight loss program at my gym that sleep and stress affect weight loss. If you're not getting enough sleep and/or are very stressed, you just won't lose very much weight, regardless of what you're eating.
