What's the best cold medicine...

What's the best cold medicine to use post op? I used to use Alka-Seltzer Cold Plus fizzy tablets, but they now contain aspirin...which sucks. I have one packet left of some of the older Alka Seltzer made with Tylenol, but that won't get me through this cold. What do you all take?

I swear by zycam. It kicks butt!  It comes in a nasal spray or a quick melt tablet or a nasal swab. I have used them all and the quick melt is the best with the nasal swab being the worst, nastiest experience.

I've been using Zicam for the past two days. It helps the severity of the cold, but doesn't take away the symptoms. I definitely need an antihistamine! I've gone through a whole box of tissue already and am starting on the second. Just didn't know if there was anything better than just the zinc.

 I am a dayquil/nightquil person.  The pills are to big for me, but the liquid works fine.

Thank you! I've never taken dayquil or nyquil. Might have to give it a try.

I'm glad you posted this because I Have a miserable cold too. I was taking tylenol cold liquid but it hasn't helped at all.
