How to know your full before healed?
You measure out the amount of food directed by your doc or dietician, and stop when that's gone.

Good question. I'm just over 2 weeks out and overdid it a couple of times but the best thing you can do is measure your portions. At first, I thought I could eyeball it but then I started to measure the amount I was recommended and realized I may have gotten too much. I am working on retraining my head because when I see a half cup of food, my head thinks there's no way that will fill me up! But if I take a little more, I find that I can't eat it all and I'm truly satisfied with the half cup. I don't have the issue of not knowing when I'm full so I'm pretty happy about that. But remember to eat small bites and chew very thoroughly, and give a little time between bites and you'll be fine. And of course, no liquids with meals unless you are still on all liquids.
I'm 14 months out and I still put my food in measured containers. BUT,
I also get a full signal....I hiccup. If I hiccup, I put my spoon/fork down and
don't take another bite. I seldom get actually "hungry" still so I don't rely
on the traditional hungry and full signals. This morning for example, I
had a protein shake and did some housework and went to a store.
While I was in the checkout line I got shaky and weak...but didn't feel
hungry. It had been 4 hours so I knew that in all likelihood my protein shake
was used up and I needed more fuel, but my stomach didn't cue me in.
So, eat regularly and measure your portions. Good luck!
