Honey.......................Honey

What do you think about using Honey as a sweetner???

 It does not reduce the carb count of a food to use honey as a sweetener, and it would make those of us who dump sick.  However, theoretically, I like honey.

 My paperwork didn't really say anything about honey and I haven't been back yet to ask but my guess is they are going to suggest no.  #1 it is sugar, dense calorie,  and may cause dumping.  #2, I know that a person shouldn't give honey to a newborn due to the fact it does have some botulism in it.  Adults can handle it generally, but I sure wouldn't use any honey until after 6 weeks post surgery myself.   The pouch has some unhealed parts until then and I wouldn't pu**** by putting anything like that in it?  Just me.

Honey is considered one of the simple sugars.  It was on my surgeon's avoid list, and since I still abstain from sugars it would not be my choice.

Some people have good luck with it, but it is still sugar.

I dumped on honey.  You will not know for sure unless you try. Best not have ayny plans to go anywhere if you do decide to try, just in case.

Real honey makes me dump. I did find a Sugar Free honey product though that I like to use in my greek yogurt and tea.

 I use agave syrup, my nut told me it was Ok to use, there are still calories in it, but I like using it in stead of artificial sweeteners.

Just thought i would ask, as a heads up for my upcomming surgery!!!!
