Making protein shakes

Just wondering--is it a bad idea to mix protein shakes using a Magic Bullet blender--will that add to much volumn? I use mine almost every day to fix fruit smoothies for my breakfast so it's something I'm use to. Thanks for any opinions.

I use mine, just beware that sometimes blenders (of any kind) add a lot of air and it can be uncomfortable, especially early out.  You may feel better making your shakes in a blender bottle for a while but you can try it out and see if they cause you any problems.

That's probably the best thing to do until I'm sure just what I can handle--Thanks for the reply.

What Tazz said. Are you pre-op? After surgery that increased air (and the resulting volume increase) may be a bit overwhelming.

Yes, my papers were just submitted (again) to my insurance--trying to get all my ducks in a row while waiting for approval.

I use mine but to limit the foam - I use a few short pulses, just enough to blend.  Then put the shake on ice and wait 10-15-20 min for the air bubbles to come to surface.  Skim the foam and drink the shake.

I just have a regular Oster blender and I mix my shakes on the low "Blend" setting, it mixes the shake well without making a lot of volume. Do you have different settings on a Magic Bullet?

Not really--you can just "tap" the container down to pulse blend or put it in the "lock" position and it blends at a really fast rate until you "unlock" the container and remove the blender container from the base.

It depends on what you like.  It may add volume, but I don't mind that.  I like it that way.
