Finally....

I have a date! I will have my surgery on September 12! My surgeon's office submitted my paperwork on Monday and they called today to tell me that I was approved! I am happy, excited and getting a little confused about it all at the same time. However, my mind is made up. Before surgery I have to do a month long pre-op diet of Optifast. I am hoping that I can deal with such a strict diet but I can't fail because if I gain any weight, surgery is cancelled. Period.

But I am ready!!!

So happy for you! I understand the excitement with the mixed emotions as well. My surgery is scheduled for Aug 21 and I just got my diet kit in the mail today. Consuming only 600 calories a day for 2 weeks will be tough, but WILL NOT FAIL!!!  Good luck to you and keep us posted!

Laurie, my date is 8/21 as well. Maybe we can be surgery buddies. :-) Hope all goes well for you these next "just under 4 weeks." 
Jackie, I didn't mean to hi-jack your thread. I wish you the best of luck, too.  Congrats on getting a date, I know how exciting it can be.

The month long optifast really isn't that bad! It will be over before you know it!

 The surgery is not a cure for obesity it is tool you can use to correct it.

This 'liquid diet' if you can finni**** proves you have a mindset to finnish what you start.

Otherwise even with RNY or any other WLS it is possible to put the weight back on.

Don't ask me how I know,,, (This is round two for me)
