peanut butter- yes or no???
check your plan, i'm allowed it but it does not sit well with me. it's also a high calorie food so it's easy to overdo it.

Does your plan give you an estimated timeline when to start adding things into your diet? I was OK'd to try peanut butter on toast around 3-4 weeks out. The bread wasn't toasted that much, and I couldn't even finish the half slice I did have. Anyway, I've only had nut butters a couple of times so far. I like almond butter better, but not opposed to PB. I use PB2 occasionally in shakes.
My dietician is always suggesting to incorporate nut butters into my diet as a protein and healthy fats source, such as putting it on thin apple slices, a few whole-grain crackers, etc.
I get the Simply Jiff. It's THE only thing I could tolerate in the mornings for the first 2wks after surgery. I would dip a spoon in it and lick on it while drinking about 4oz skim milk....it was sooo good lol. But to answer your question...yes, you can have it if your plan says and you can tolerate it.

I was a month out before having small amounts of peanut butter on crackers when I took my pain meds. Now, I only like PB2 because not only of its low calories and fat content but because I love the flavor. It's non-sticky in the mouth, too.
