Stalling already?? At TWO weeks??

Had my RNY on Dec. 3. Last Monday (one week out) I had lost an incredible 18 lbs and several inches over my body. I weighed today (although on a different scale) and had only lost 2 lbs, and the measuring tape didn't move!! What the heck??

I have been struggling to get my fluids and protein in. Yesterday and today were the first days that I got all my protein in , and still not quite all my fluids. Do you think this is why nothing happened this week?? Or am I just panicking for nothing. I got so excited last week and now I am getting those negative thoughts like "this isn't gonna work for me!!" or "what have I done to mess it up??"

There is at least one post every other day on here about the week 2 or week 3 stall.  It is 100% normal.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.

Stalled weeks 2,3 and 4 myself. Totally normally. Hang in there and follow doc's orders and you will be fine.

I just had a week 3, 4, 5 stall and was freaking out!  I expected a one week stall around week 3, but eek!  The scale finally budged yesterday (halfway through week 6), so I can breath a little now.

Hello there! I haven't had my surgery yet, but based on what i've read on these boards, its totally normal. Your body has been through a heck of a lot of the last two weeks, and its trying to recover from a big surgery as well as adapting to a very new diet. Give your body a little bounce-back time, and I'm sure you'll see the pounds melting away in no time :)

Hah! Some people gain wait immediately after surgery. I lost nothing at all the first month. I know you don't want to hear this but, be patient. It'll happen.

And if you are really stressed/worried/fixated on this? Loose the scale.

GL!

It is totally normal. And there will be more. Stalls are a normal part of this process. You won't lose every week or even every month. And it's better to know that now and expect it so that it's easier to deal with, because you know it's normal and we all go though it. No, it's not fun, and yes, it's frustrating, but somehow knowing its normal helps out.
