Buyer's remorse is par for the course.  Like your first good poop this too shall pass.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Most of us had times at first when we wondered what we had done. Every day will get a bit better and the more you walk the sooner the gas will dissipate. A few months down the road as the weight begins to come off you will be so glad you did this. I am 6 months out and down 99 pounds and feel like a different person! Hang in there it does get better!

Hang in there, the first week is definitely the most challenging.  It'll take a few weeks for you to get your groove going and understand what your body is going through.  I am so sorry your operation and recovery has been rough.  I hate the hospital too, and got the heck out of dodge a day and a half after surgery.  The effects from the surgery stay with you a few days, so it kind of is annoying but you just got to stay positive.

Looking back now seven months and all that has happened since has really been remarkable for me.  I am wearing a size 14, was a 26.  Down 90lbs.  Wi**** was more at the moment, but I have been working out frequently and I think I am building and toning well with muscle mass.  The reactions from people is comical, I mean people are stopping dead in their tracks who haven't seen me for awhile and literally their jaws drop.  Its awesome.  First thing that comes out of them is, "Wow, you look great!".

Keep that in mind, your time will come too.  This surgery is so worth all the no so pleasant beginnings.  Just keep positive and keep imagining how great you'll feel in no time.

As i am impatient myself at the moment, I realize in another 7 months I'll look back to this point and still be smiling at my progress.  It's like Christmas every morning.  Love life:)

Take it easy and let your body heal, that is where you're at right now.  It'll come...

It definitely isn't for sissies.  I lost 35 pounds before surgery....came out and gained 34 of those pounds back in body fluids.  It took a couple of weeks before they came off then I was starting on real weight loss.  It can get frustrating.  Get tough and be prepared.  I can't imagine anyone would  not expect pain and discomfort with major surgery.  It will get better.

Sorry you are suffering, Deb!  It will get better ...

However, in the interests of those that are still to undergo their surgery, please know that I never had any pain, problems or regrets - not ONE DAY - it is NOT inevitable that you will feel as bad as the posters on this thread feel!

I think those of us that don't have any problems don't post enough - it gives a bad impression of this surgery overall ...  almost like those of us who don't have a tough time should have survivor's guilt!

Buyers remorse is very common. It IS MAJOR surgery and it will take a while to get back to feeling somewhat human again. It took me 2 months or so. It kicked my butt!! Just remember to cut yourself some slack and allow yourself to heal in your OWN time table. There is NO set time to feel better because we all heal differently. I had several complications and felt like crap for weeks with nausea and an infection in my incisions. I was VERY bloated and felt horrible. I hated the protein shakes and was NEVER hungry! It was NOT fun!

Remember to sip all day with your fluids and walk, walk, and walk. I am 4 months out and down 73 pounds. It is worth it even though I cursed myself several times a day and cried like a newborn when I felt overwhelmed and thought what in the **** have I done to myself. It is worth it! I promise. Hang in there! YOU CAN DO IT!! This time next year you will be so thankful you went through with it! I am 4 months out and thrilled with myself and the results so far!

Every day that passes it just keeps getting better and better... It's kind of like having a baby with respect to forgetting the pain and discomfort!  I sometimes after reading a post think, I'm so lucky, I didn't feel this way, then I think, oh wait, yes I did! It sucked in the moment! Cheers to a speedy recovery!
