Gurgles?

I just had gastric bypass on the 2nd and i have gurgles everytime i eat something, it weirds me out. What can i do to make it stop?

I had surgery on 9/26 and have had the gurgles, too. I suppose it's normal, from what I've read. The "new normal!" I feel better after the grumbling, tho, if I was a little full!

There is nothing you can do to make it stop but you will get used to it. It's just your re-routed plumbing beginning to digest the food you just ate. I am 2 years and my stomach still gurgles but I hardly notice now.

my stomach did it at first, but not so much now. Don't even notice, perfectly normal.

1 year post op, I still gurgle when I eat and drink.

There isn't really anything you can do to stop it. Chewing well seems to lessen it, but it is your intestines (not your stomach) reacting to getting food completely unprocessed (instead of partially proceeded by the portion of intestine we have had bypassed).

It often lessens over time, but most people seem to retain it to some degree and for some people it largely depends on what they eat.

I am 20 months out. I was working with a patient today in a quiet room - just before the appointment I had my 3pm snack. Boy my stomach was talking. He was like - "wow you must be really hungry."

My husband calls it my Zombie pouch.

13 months post op and you can still hear me gurgle from across the room.

Think of this way: 1. No gurgle = I am fat. 2. Gurgle: I am skinny. Your choice, 1 or 2? Mine was number 2! I gurgle after and during each meal which I have decided is a great, wonderful, fantastic sound to hear! Enjoy it....
