Literally don't know what to do with myself now that I'm done with the puree. I feel like I have received conflicting instructions from my 3 different NUTs at my center, so have stuck with my puree's and 1/2 a veggie burger lol. I don't know what is still considered too rough for my pouch. I could really go for turkey meatballs...

It depends a bit on your plan. In my case, after purée, I moved onto soft food. Before full solid.

i went back and looked at my food log, and it mostly consisted of:

diferent kinds of soup ( not puréed)

yogurt, cheddar cheese, deli meat, hummus, egg salad, chicken and tuna salad.

then more solid meats, like chicken, with guacamole to keep it saucy.

Ground beef n tomato sauce

those last two are tricky for a lot of people early out.

Still relied on protein shakes a lot, and only introduced one new item at a time, and in very small portions.

also, check out the menu boards on here for tons of ideas!

good luc****ep posting!

Thanks! Ground meats are listed for me to try a bit further out :( I had 2 oz of rotisserie chicken and 1 oz of baked potato. It was delicious, amazing, and totally sat in my pouch well. I'm so happy! I literally got a little emotional over this chicken :D

My advice is to go slllooowwww. This was a painful time for me. I got sick a lot, trying different things, all things that were cleared for me but didn't sit well. If you are tolerating chicken already, that's awesome!

Soft foods to me was just that, if it was soft I tried it, chew chew chew, it is awful when something gets stuck.  I stayed on soft foods the longest, well I am 12 weeks out and I still eat mostly soft foods, lol.  I have problems when I eat whole meats, anything ground up I have no problems what so ever with. Just take your time and only try 1 thing at a time and you should do fine.

Definitely soft foods, and chew your food very well! Be careful with the chicken -- that would not have been on my list of approved foods at that stage. I did a lot of yogurt, cheese and smoothies in this phase -- also did things like tuna and chicken salad.

"Moist chicken" was on my list, which this was. I I also completely chewed it down to liquid chickin mush. I  going to ask NUTs about ground meats because there seems to be a consensus online about that being easier to digest but that's specifically written in my packet at 2 months post op.

Ground meat is still very difficult for me to tolerate.  Just go slow - the only meat I can really do well is rotisserie chicken, very wet.  Deli meat, like rare roast beef, works for me with sauce - A-1 or horseradish.  Eggs are still really hard for me unless it is a poached egg.  It is not fun when something does not sit well, and if it comes back it will be a long time before I feel like I can even try it again ;0
