What's on your Monday Menu?
Good morning everyone. I'm fighting a stomach bug this morning and will have to slog through this Monday. On Saturday, I leave for a long weekend vacation with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. I can't wait.
Qotd: I took German in college. I live in a part of the country where half of the population speaks Spanish, and I always find myself trying to use German to communicate with a Spanish speaker.

QOTD: I took Spanish and Hebrew in school. No I don't remember much. The next generation of my family is very good at languages. My DIL is fluent in Spanish and speaks Mandarin Chinese. She taught at a school in Taiwan the year before she met my son. My son wanted to take Swahili in high School because of our trip to Africa. He didn't do so well with that but after living with his wife and living an immigrant area of Chicago he speaks SPanish very well now. To the point that he did a live interview in Spanish for a Spanish cable station out there. They live in India so they are learning Hindi now. My sisters two boys- one is fluent in Japanese and lives in Japan with his Japanese wife and 2 children. Her other son is fluent in Portuguese. He teaches Capiero a Brazilian martial art, and met his Brazilian wife through that, but they live here in the states.

I love my family and love my nieces and nephews... so yes proud. We've had our struggles and don't always see eye to eye but I love that (and I did this recently with one of my brothers) we can get in each other's faces- say what the heck? Apologize and still have each other's backs. We don't see each other all the time but we know we are there for each other.
Oh and another international- my niece is in London going for her MBA. One year program actually worked out cheaper than staying in the NY.
