3 week stall!

I am 4.5 months out from RNY. I have lost a total of 125lbs since last February, 68 since surgery. I have been stalled for the past 3 weeks. I am getting all my protein and water in and my carbs are never over 60gms a day and my sugars are never over 25gms a day. I have been walking about 11 miles per week at a very good pace. What is wrong? I am so frustrated. Also, my calories are usually between 680 and 730. I log everything.

typical day:

12oz coffee with 1TBLS half and half/1tsp sugar

herb and garlic tuna pouch 2.5oz

1 hard boiled egg

Morningstar garden burger (90 cal/10gm protein)

10 cashews

3oz turkey or fish for dinner and 2 or 3 bites of vegetable if room

2oz cheddar cheese

1- 16oz cup of herbal tea, plain

40-50oz of water

Most of the recommendations I've heard suggest keeping carbs under 25g/day, so you're a bit high on there.

I'd suggest ditching the cashews. You need protein first and foremost, and the nuts don't have enough of that.

Long stalls are absolutely common as you get further out from surgery. Be patient, keep doing what you're doing, and the scale will move again. You can do it!

You're not doing anything wrong, stalls do break, it's just frustrating. This may sound daft, but change the route you walk or the time you walk.

Come back and let us know when it breaks!

noted on the carbs. I have the goal on MFP set at 60gm but I usually don't go over 40gms. I will watch that. Also, I do interval training on the treadmill so I change my speed and incline often. I will try and start doing something different as well. I used to do yoga all the time but it will probably be even better now that I won't have to modify as many of the poses. TY. It's good to hear that stalls this long are normal. I was afraid I just stopped losing. I've also been under an enormous amount of stress in my personal life and I swear your body shuts down with stress.

In looking at your fluid intake, I would suggest working your way up to about 100 oz. That really helped me to keep losing.

HW: 248+, SW (RNY: 2/28/17): 244, GW (10/17): 125; LW: 115; 45# regain (19-20); CW: 135.6; new goal: 135; Plastics: Ext mastopexy, Ext abdominoplasty-5/18/2018; diagnosed w/ gastroparesis 11/20.

I will try to bring my water up. TY. Between herbal tea and water I just meet my programs requirement of 64oz. Ever since surgery, drinking has been an issue. I used to love to drink water. I hate any artificial sweeteners and they give me diarrhea.

I had a long stall at around the same time (5 months out) but it eventually ended when I cut back on my after-dinner yoghurt - maybe coincidentally. Anyway I lost another 40 lbs after that and am still losing albeit slowly. So I would suggest dropping the cashews for now and increasing your fluids as others have suggested and just trying to relax and trust the surgery as much as you can.

Good luck and hang in there!
