Mike - first, you look great.

Second, off topic. Hulu. I was watching this show last night and I thought I gotta tell you, which is silly because I have no idea what your taste in TV shows are. Designated Survivor - edge of your seat political ala house of cards or scandal but with a twist and you don't know who the bad guys are. Both seasons are on Hulu.

Mornin' All!

I'll be headed out for coffee in a few minutes - I need to get in a half-day of work today, which I'll do remotely. I'm speaking to a pre-op class this morning at 11:00, then I have my infusion of Reclast (an IV-delivered osteoporosis drug) at the hospital this afternoon (I was supposed to have it two weeks ago, but my insurance approval hadn't come through yet). Nothing else planned for today - or the weekend - since I'm not sure how I'll react to the drug. Flu-like symptoms and bone pain are common for the first couple of days - but some people feel nothing at all.

QOTD: I never felt like I weighed 373 lbs, so I had body dysmorphia on that end, too. Seeing myself in a mirror - or in photos - was always shocking. But I feel it on this end as well. I felt like my brain was most aligned with my body when I was in the 200-250 range, for some reason. My dysmorphia isn't too bad, though. I don't feel huge, and when I go clothes shopping, I now go directly to the rack of mediums. But photos sometimes surprise me. I used to hate them because my face (and body) looked so huge. Now, my body looks OK in them, but my face sometimes looks thin and drawn and wrinkly - esp in crappy fluorescent lighting! (face looks fine in the middle picture, though)

2 years 9 months out:

B: homemade Greek yogurt, 1 T tahini, homemade blueberry/blackberry sauce

MS: coffee with half & half, protein/Miralax shake

L: probably just a protein bar (may not have much time before I have to be at the hospital)

D: 4 oz pork chop with cherry/cranberry sauce, Asian-inspired cole slaw

ex: may stop at the gym on the way to the coffee place to do 30 minutes on the cross trainer

thanks! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever expect to make it all the way. My first goal was 199 lbs - even that seemed like a pipe dream! And also, I think I was around 190-ish at my one-year post-op appt. My surgeon was very pleased - and I was pretty sure that was about where I was going to stop (and I would have been OK with that...). I credit this site - and esp this menu thread - for my continued loss!!! Being forced to plan what I'm going to eat every day - and also having lots of examples on here of super successful people - including some who started out as heavy as I was - has really been key.
