morning folks! It's dark thirty here and my body pronounced my sleep is done. I seriously need to get a dinner game plan together. My car cost $600 on Monday so my budget is basically set up for bread and butter lol. Its hump day... yeah!!

Qotd: considering most of the world is in back to school mode- tell us who was your favorite teacher growing up- and why?

My favorite teacher was my 5th grade- Ms. Macnamara. She was the first teacher who I felt believed in me. I was in a remedial reading program and was successful with it and moved into the regular reading groups and I know it's because she encouraged/motivated me. I wonder how my kids would answer this question- cause I certainly have feelings about their teachers so far...

No weight yet, 3.3 years out

m1: egg, ham, cheese stick

m2: Greek yogurt, berries, banana

m3: bourbon chicken chunks 4.2 oz/half salad (leftover frim dinner last night)

m4: ?? My carb loving heart would easily settle for bread and butter... but no good can come of that

I set my alarm for 6:30 since I have a Dr appt this afternoon (trying to get this peeing issue in order) and the gosh darn dog work up at 5:30. so I took this shift. went ahead and got up.

QOTD: I would say mrs brink, 8th grade. she was a fantastic teacher despite being a Tennessee fan. She knew my parents separated and my dad left. she let me use home room to walk the school property with a friend and told me I could be anything I wanted to be, which was at the time an actor. I said, no one would ever hire me, i'm fat.

Food for today:

I've been on a sort of CAMAW- eating strict through later evening then allowing a yogurt or fluff or protein bar.

fish burger patty

egg whites in dash griddle

lots of coffee

water

not sure on the rest yet

Morning!

Car troubles must be going around. Our transmission is acting up so I know it's days are numbered...I was hoping to push 1 more year, but that's not likely...

qotd: that would be monsieur Pierre. He was my grade 5-6 teacher. I went to a French language school in a very small town. I.e. we were a combined class of grade 5-6 and less than 20 total. He was Haitian and came to our school via Montréal. He introduced us to so many things we never would have been exposed to in such a rural community. He brought us sugar cane and other fruit and foods that were unheard of in the small towns of 80-90s. spoke openly of racism, and the challenges of moving to Canada (I.e. he wore two layers of clothes even in summerhahah) international music. Even what life was like in big cities like Montreal, that we had never visited.

What also stuck with me was the parents who had their kids change schools (and bus an extra 30 minutes each way) because they said his "accent was too strong" and their kids wouldn't be able to learn hmmmm...

Menu:

B: coffee and premier

L: pork loin with a bit of salad

D: shrimp I think with something?

S: boiled eggs

Good Morning Menuers,

Sorry to hear about the car troubles. Wish our cars could run like Fred Flintstones!

QOTD: My favorite teacher was in 3rd grade, Mrs. Bacon. I loved her. She was kind, fair and loved us all. We had the biggest class in the school and every time we would walk down the hall she left us to make the choo-choo sound like a train because our line was so long. I swear she is the reason I became a teacher and taught 3rd grade for 18 years! Then my principal moved me to 5th - against me bulking the move. 5th graders aren't as cute or innocent as 3rd graders.

I'm kind of at a loss here. I have changed nothing in my routine and overnight I have gained 4 pounds. I want to freak out but I know there has got to be a reason. If anything, I thought I would lose because the Miralax really gave my a colon cleanse. (TMI - sorry) I am going back to tracking everything on MFP. I stopped tracking closely when I started summer break because I am not on the computer as much in the summer. The only thing I added was going to the gym and that was last week.

B: boiled egg

S: PP chocolate shake after the gym

L: 2 ham and cheese roll-ups with horseradish mustard

D: 1/2 chicken enchilada with a small salad

I will put this all in MFP and return with the totals before the end of the day. Have a great one!

Just shy of 700 calories - but I increased my water intake and the scale is down a pound.

Just keep at it. I 'gained' 5 in two days-- and I'm tracking everything. Other then being on some meds and fitting an infection- I see no reason I can't point to for the gain. I'll just buckle down, and ride it out. Ive seen wild fluctuations before and know I'll get past it. You will too!

Oh man this happened to me last week! I gained 2 pounds overnight and I did freak lol I was thinking "how do you gain 2 pounds on 400-500 calories a day?!?" and worse was that it didn't come off right away 0.0 I had to chip away at it for a week before I got back to my original weight and could start losing new weight again.

Just like peach said, we just have to ride it out, right? Log everything and make sure we are SPOT ON until it comes back off. Joy.

Well best of luck, I'm sure you'll be back down in a week or two.

Just a thought, if I eat something with more sodium than on a typical day for me the scale will read about 4 pounds of a gain. But luckily it goes away after about 2 days. Hope it is something as simple as that in your case!

Morning menu folks! It's another hot and very humid day, but that's pretty much typical for August in swampy DC! That's why anybody who can (including Congress!) leaves for the month!

Last night we got my new sunroom gym finished at 7:15. DW went straight to bed, but I had to try out some of the new equipment "to be sure it works!" I love it! I'll still work out at my trainer's gym at least once a week, but switch my second day with him to cyber sessions and then do my third day by myself. I'm really excited and couldn't wait until Photo Friday to share my pictures...

QOTD: My kindergarten teacher was really great and helped me to transition to school life. Also my first grade teacher, Miss Comer, got me through some rough times at home and school. My fifth grade teacher, Mr. Gingerich, introduced me to hockey and soccer, which are my favorite sport to this day and didn't discourage me even though I was very uncoordinated.

Menu:

B1: Cappuccino protein shake w/ iced coffee

B2: scrambled eggs, turkey sausage patty

S1: chomps, small apple

Lunch: probably fish and salad

S2: chicken breast, small apple

Dinner: hamburger, broccoli slaw

Exercise: still not doing much walking because my toe is painful. I'd like to go to the pool or do an hour of strength training after work...everything modified!
