How to break a plateau?

I think I have hit a plateau. I thought I had broke it but I keep going up the same 2 pounds and down the same 2 pounds. I was 259.7 on Friday and this am I woke up and I was 261.9. Uggh. This was a weight that I was at for about 8 months before I put some weight on. I am 7 weeks post op. On the 17th of July I was 265 so my next weigh in is coming up. I will feel horrible if I only lose 5 pounds this month.
I am getting my protein in and liquids in. I am at abour 40 to 50 carbs  day. I eat the same things day in and day out. Do you think I need to change it up as maybe my body has gotten use to it? I have been walking about 30 minutes every other day. I will make that one hour a day once my kids go back to school on the 24th. Just hard with 3 kids who complain the entire walk!LOL
Thanks
Gina

It's just a stall, and it will break eventually. I have one every month! Keep on plan and the weight will drop again.

How much are you eating? Try eating more - the week I ate 800-900 cal and exercised for 45 min/day, I broke a stall and lost 5 lbs that week.

I have cut my calories backk to 600 for the last week (because of teeth and stomach issues) and my weight loss STOPPED. lol.

I eat the same thing every day - I don't think our body knows the difference - at the end, most of its all protein.

It will pass (((HUGS))))) - we just have to be patient.

Okay going to try and eat more. I am going to write down everything also to make sure that what I believe I am eating is what I am actually eating. Tonight I tried 3 oz of shrimp and so far so good!
Thanks

Me and a plateau been dancing for a week.  Today I think I broke through, gonna weigh tomorrow.  I did a bring down of carbs and upped movement yesterday and today.  I let the plateau win for 6 days but yesterday I felt like I could eat an entire buffet!  Powerful mental hunger.  I knew breaking under 200 was going to be bad, but I still hate it even when I knew all along.

So we all know they come and can go without changing anything, just doing what you do and it will break.. If it feels "too long" to you, you can cut carbs, or go liquid, or walk extra for a day just to nudge that layer to open up and release those "little yellow pockets" of fat.  :)

I am 6 weeks post op and the same thing happened to me at about 3 weeks in. I spoke to the dietitian and was told that I needed to increase my protein and to use one of the on-line diet journals so you can see exactly how many calorie, protein, carbs ect and to stick between 800-1000 calories a day.  I had been writing down what I was eating but once I started using the on-line journal I found that I hadn't been eating enough calories. I was told that anything less than 800 calories a day will send your body into starvation mode. I was also told by another bariatric patient that stalls will happen but eventually you will start loosing again. Hope this helps it sure helped me! Best of luck to you!
