High Pulse Rate!

I went for my 2-week post op appt..everything look good EXCEPT I have a high pulse rate!! I am sooo nervous!  My DOC says that it is probably due to dehydration..did anyone else have this problem?  How long before it returned to normal?

How high is high?

Just try and get hydrated and see if it helps. If you start feeling bad, go to ER for fluids. Dehydration is no joke.

I've already been to the ER once for fluids..its 134 and the nurse said the only time it should be that high is if I was doing high impact exercise.

The did an EKG on me and it said that I had a fast heart rate..

That sounds really high! Keep an eye on that! Id be getting a 2nd opinion.


I have the opposite problem - my resting pulse is around 55 because of a beta blocker and all teh nurses freak out for a minute lol

Tomorrow I am going to call the nurse and ask her when they plan on checking my pulse again..I am trying to get in all these liquids  tho

I have had rapid heart beat if it continues you need to see the dr,if he does not have the knowledge you need a cardilogist. I carry pills just in case my heart starts racing! take your pulse ,never let it go past 24 hrs at 100 or above,not good for your heart.Because i do have heart issues i have a wrist  blood pressure machine with pulse rate. Have it check out .good luck
