Recently, I heard that most Americans gain 10 lbs over the holidays. I googled this, and found an interesting article that states the average weight gain is 1 lb: http://www.nichd.nih.gov/news/releases/holidayweightgain.cfm

How do you even measure a lb lol - my scale goes up and down 2-4 lbs a day alone.

This study seems a little whacky to me. Just from what I see around me - most people gain more than 1lb during the holidays. But I suppose if I knew that someone was tracking my weight to publish in a study - maybe I'd eat a little less or exercis more so I don't gain weight :-p

I gained 6 last holiday season between Halloween and Christmas.  This year I', being so cautious that I've actually lost weight.

Maybe they average out the weight over everyone studied?  You know, like how every couple has 1.9 children!??  I have yet to see what .9 of a child looks like!
