Magical Carb Number - Please Help

I never really keep track of the amount of carbs I eat. I try to keep them low, and I know to get 60g or more protein, but I know I was told to keep the carbs to a certain number with each meal. Could anyone help me on this? I am trying to journal my food/liquid intake and see if that jump starts my weight loss. Been the same for awhile and hoping this might get it going again.

Thanks so much.

Hi Melissa,
The carb count kinda varies from person to person. The more popular carb count I see a lot on board, and what I follow is keeping my carbs 40grms and under. I use myfitnesspal and track my carbs that way to make sure that I don't go over 40grms in one day.

I hope this helps, good luck!!

While in the losing phase, my carb number was always 45 or under and never eating more than 15 carbs at each meal.  Also, if you don't eat 15 at one meal then you can use the balance of what you didn't use during a snack but can never roll it over to the next big meal.  For example, if I ate 7 carbs at breakfast and I have 8 left over then in between breakfast and lunch for a snack for something but could never use those 8 with the 15 for lunch.  My doctor said to think of carbs as a switch that turns on the fat to sit on our butts and bellies.  That switch is turned on at 16 carbs, so you never want to take in more than 15 carbs at a time.  It has worked for me.  Hope this has not been too confusing, lol!

I talked to my NUT and it depends on your activity level.  I work out 2 times a day and require more carbs to keep my energy up....so my advise to you is the talk to your NUT.  I use loseit.com on my phone and it works great to keep it in check.

But my carb totals are around 60.

hope this helps.

Different for everyone. My carbs average 70 these days and I'm still losing well. I've never
Been able to keep carbs under 40... Or
Ive chosen not to anyway. Hasnt impacted me from what I can tell.

Thanks for the advice. I used to be a carb fanatic. Kept them below 40 today though. Way to go on working that sleeve. Congrats on your progress.
