i drank unsweetened iced tea and also hot tea in those days. and there is a protein drink that is raspberry iced tea and other flavored iced tea. I found it helpful to make this drink with more tea rather than water so it had a stronger tea taste and less of a protein drink taste.

add unsweetened coco powder to choc protein drinks to make them more bitter. or if you doc approves, add a blob of greek yogurt to other protein drinks to make it more tart. less yucky.

gl. these days will pass.       Diane

I buy the caffeine free tea packets and drink tea all day long.
Little more expensive with less tea packets but worth it.

I was a regular coffee and tea drinker before so the chances that caffeine would impact me is negligable.  I don't have any taste for coffee right now but tea is like a drug.  I drink it unsweatened and I love it.  I'm 12 days post-op.

There's no way under the sun I'd be getting my fluid in if it wasn't for iced tea!  I make it at home with decaf tea bags and use Splenda but I also get it quite often from McD's-$1.00 for 44 oz!  Some of the thought is that caffeine can slightly dehydrate you but the other school says the effect is very minimal.  I don't drink much caffeine but I don't worry too much about it.

I was told to avoid caffeine as well....due to the fact caffeine tends to dehydrate you.

that's one of those things that Dr's perpetuate but isn't actually true.  The studies show that if you are not a regular caffeine drinker than yes it can dehydrate you but if you regularly have caffeine than it has no affect.
