i'm a texture kind of person, and i just can't do the bottled protein drinks or nectars, because they are a weird consistancy.  So i was wondering if any of you changed your protein drinks texture and if so how?

I use almond milk. It makes a very thick, creamy shake.

I use almond milk and 1/2tsp konjac aka glucomannan powder (2carbs, all fiber) to it, and let it sit overnight. It turns out thicker.

Xantham gum, about a 1/4 of a teaspoon works great.

Almond breeze works for me too.  I mix in blender with ice cubes.  Now that I'm in maintenance I sometimes add 1/2 of a frozen banana to thicken it up.

Adding 1/4 of a cup of cottage cheese when you blend it helps make a thicker shake. Here's what I've been doing lately:

1/2 cup crushed ice
1/4 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup almond or coconut milk
1/2 cup water
1 scoop protein powder (any flavor)
1 tbsp of sugarfree torani syrup

Blend and and enjoy!

This is from another post I replied to earlier about yogurt but it's how I make my shakes and they are thick and creamy:

Carbmaster has been one of my "go to" foods since the very early days.  I never did like the Greek yogurt.

There are several great flavors that I have found at my Kroger's:
Spice Pear
Strawberry
Raspberry Yumberry
Vanilla
Vanilla Chai
Blackberry
Strawberry Banana
Strawberry Colada
White Chocolate Raspberry  (My Fav)
Tropical Fruit
Peach
Banana Cream

Kroger also has their brand of Protein Whey/Soy Powder that is good.  It only comes in Vanilla or Chocolate and has 25 gm protein/2 scoops.  Only about $10 per container for about 15 servings.

I am a year out but I still do one protein shake a day.  Thanks to Carbmaster, I LOVE my shakes:
1 container of Carbmaster
2 scoops of Kroger Protein powder (I use vanilla with the flavored yogurt, chocolate with the vanilla yogurt)
1/2 the Carbmaster container of water
Carbmaster container (I think it's six oz) of crushed ice

Put in a blender until the consistency of a Wendy's frosty.
Stats ( these would depend on the protein powder):
Makes about 12 oz
175 cals
6 carbs
12 fat
33 protein
For new post-ops, that 12 oz will last awhile.  Less water will make it thicker of course if you want to cut down the volume.
