9 month update!!!
I remember the weight falling off of me the first couple of months and then it started to slow down and sometimes it completely stalled. It's very frustrating and seems like forever before the scale started moving again. When that happens to you newbies, just try to keep the big picture in mind. I'm not even a year out yet and I've come so far. It seems like it was yesterday when I was rolled into the OR. The time really does fly by. Later, you'll look back and be amazed!
If anyone reading this is still thinking about having this surgery, I say go for it! Just make sure you're ready. I got through it pretty good but I can't say it wasn't a very emotional journey. But definately all worth it!
Good Luck to everyone!
I eat a lot of tilapia, shrimp, tuna, chicken and steak. My snacks usually are peanut butter or yogurt. and for breakfast I usually have egg and sausage or turkey bacon. I keep my carbs very low. atleast under 40 and under 30 on most days. I drink nectar protein drinks because the calories are low and there are no carbs. I eat some veggies but I get most of my veggies from V8. For the first 6 months, my calories were probably around 700. My doc wanted it a little higher, but it was hard to get more and still keep my carbs low, so that's just what I did. I haven't been writing it down lately, but I can guess that my calories are around900 to 1000 per day at this point. I will start adding in a little more as soon as I reach goal.
As far as the excercise goes, I get on the treadmill and do the machine weights, but honestly what I get the most out of is the aerobics class... mostly zumba!
Good Luck to you!

When was your surgery? Looks like you just got started on this journey. It will be the best thing you've ever done for yourself but it won't always be the easiest. When things seem impossible, my best advice is to go back to the basics of what you learn in the beginning. And even though, this is something that should be done one day at a time, you should always keep the big picture in mind. Don't forget why you did this in the first place.
Good Luck!
