Regular diet at 4wks Post-Op?
I finally had my first follow up with my surgeon today and he told me I could begin eating a regular diet. He said just to take small bites and chew well and remember to eat protein first and if something doesn't agree with me wait a couple weeks before trying it again. Has anyone else been cleared this early out for a regular diet?
My post op program was first week clears then two weeks of full liquids then two weeks of pureeds then two weeks soft then two weeks full foods no nuts and seeds. I will be allowed full foods with nuts and seeds next week.
I say go at your own pace and what you are comfortable with. I'm still freaked out to eat some things so I'd be even more freaked out to do it at 4 weeks.
I'm not clear until 6 weeks out.

I'm a hair over a month out and on regular diet...with one caveat. They suggested I not try salad for a couple of months yet.

I was on a regular diet starting at day 31 also, as long as I wasn't having any problems with any of the previous stages. (Clear liquids, full liquids, pureed/soft, etc.) I learned how very important it was to chew, chew, chew! My first "regular" meal was Thanksgiving dinner. Good luck and I hope this helps.
The only thing I'm not allowed is raw veggies until four months out. I'm at 3 months now and I really just want a piece of cucumber...lol
band to sleeve revision and loving life!
