Lentils, beans and garbanzos all have protein.  Do you eat dairy?

I don't do recipes myself, I just cook from my head.

I found this site.  Look in the bean section.

Yogurt is a good soft dairy food and can be added to bean recipes, but not cooked.  Add at the end.

I was a vegetarian for YEARS before my VSG. I find it very difficult to get adequate protein from food without meat of some sort. I've recently started trying fish. I'd stay away from beans as a protein source because they are very high in carbs. Cheese and Eggs have been my goto foods before adding the fish into my diet.

I absolutely agree with you, but being a veg since birth makes it difficult for me to consider this food. Beans are high on carbs i agree and i do try to stay away, what else can u suggest for me? i love cheese but its very difficult to get low fat cheese here. do let me know if you come across something. Cheers!

I'm a vegetarian and I'm 7 weeks out. During the soft food stage, I relied on Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, Laughing Cow Light cheese wedges, and fat-free refried beans with unflavored protein powder mixed in.

I also used the Healthwise protein hot chocolate and tomato bouillon (which I still use); they can be found on MyBariatricPantry.com.

Good luck, and please feel free to send me a message directly on this site if I can help with any other questions.

these are great options, i am about 3 months through and really crave for variety in food and hence keep looking out for new options. let me try greek yogurt, hope this doesnt give me nausea and unflavored protein powder. thank you!

Something I found easy during soft foods and still love is Egg Puff:

Put into blender:
4 eggs
4 slices high fibre bread (I use a locally baked high fibre, high protein flax bread)
2 cups milk
4 ounces tasty cheese (sharp cheddar, tex mex blend, Swiss...)
Salt and pepper to taste

Blend until fairly smooth, then pour into a buttered casserole dish and bake at 350f until puffed and lightly browned. (Sharp knife will come out clean)

This will make several servings but reheats well.
