Whoa I am a runner.
So I am running my 1st ever 5K this afternoon. Reflecting on what has led to this day over the last 5 months is just, at times, overwhelming. I truly believe God has given me a 2nd chance to do this life right. With me losing 113 pounds in just over 5 months is truly a blessing. I am just 50 pounds away from my high school weight (22 yrs ago) and even though I was heavy at that time it is a true milestone for me. Like all challenges in life, you can get past the difficulty, and once you do and see the change in your life, it is so worth it. Run Happy!!!
wow! I 'think' about running, heck, I sometimes dream that I am running, but I have yet to try it...at my age (61) and bad knees, I don't know. But you are doing it!!! Congrats to you, and best of luck (don't hurt anything!). Let us know how it goes!

Good luck, I'm sure you will Rock that run! I to have started running and could never have imagined that I could have before this surgery....I did my first 5k last Sunday and felt such an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment! It is our second chance, and I want to take this chance and literally run with it! Let us know how it went.
Been following your progress from the beginning- whoo-Hoo you! So very well done, and I agree with you all the way- God is, indeed, in this with us. Way to respond to His prompting- your willingness and compliance is going to make this happen all the way for you. Smiles all the way for you today. Enjoy your run! Bonnie

Way to go!! I don't ever aspire to be a runner. I could see myself doing a 5K one day for fun and to raise money for a good cause...but I would walk in a heartbeat if I started feeling pain. Contrast that with my little brother who has run over 50 marathons. Crazy!
So glad that this surgery has helped you dream big dreams and achieve them!
What an awesome post, you have earned the right to become a runner! Congrats and jus****ch those miles tick off. I dont run but I walk with my dog every day here in Vegas. When the winds are up, which are often I put the head down and we go! Its truly a second chance at living.
