My debut/introduction

Hello All!  My name is Jennifer.  I am 34 years old, a mom of two little girls, and I live near Syracuse,NY.  I have been lurking around OH for a while, and now that I have insurance approval and a surgery date I decided to become a part of this amazing support system!  I have been a yo-yo dieter for all of my adult life. I did not struggle with my weight during childhood, but it became a big problem as I grew up. I now find myself struggling with morbid obesity. Having once lost a large amount of weight through Medifast (eventually regaining) and running a half marathon, I learned how it felt to be healthy, energetic, and confident. Unfortunately I gained all the weight back and have since felt like I am missing out on life. I will not settle for a fat, unhealthy me any longer. My family deserves a better me! After having bariatric surgery suggested to me as an option, I researched it thoroughly and realized this is the tool I have probably needed all along. My vertical sleeve gastrectomy date is 3/17/14.

Hi!  You are about a week behind me for surgery date!

I am also a mom of two littles - 3.5yo girl, almost 2yo boy.

I just started my pre-op liquid diet and it is tough, but I am determined to get through.

Thank you.  My surgeons office was on the ball and gave me a checklist at my first appointment of what all my requirement would be.  I did them within about a month and a half and then they submitted to the insurance.  To my surprise my insurance approved within 24 hours of receiving my file.  Crazy...and exciting!

Welcome Jennifer!  I am pretty new myself, my surgery was 1/21.  I only live about 45 minutes from Syracuse, nice to have our area represented!  Good luck with the surgery, you will do great!
