I walked 5 miles in an hour and 45 minutes on a beautiful paved path through the woods and along a creek. I think I am getting Patellar tendinitis. :(

I"m 18 months out (lost 110 lbs and nearly at goal) but about 5 months ago, I lost interest in the gym again. Since then, I've been sedentary on and off... can't seem to be motivated to work out and hate to sweat.  That having been said, I rode my bike 13 miles today!!!  OMG!  I know I'll be sorry, but it was sooo beautiful on this cinder-path in the woods and I was with my hubby and we took it very slow and easy.  Never broke a sweat but my thighs feel like jello now.  I do believe that slow and steady win the race... I know I need to do more frequent, smaller work-outs but I just had to write-in today.  Need the support and felt a bit like bragging too.  THANKS for listening!

Great job.  I know in the past, I have fallen off exercising and it is difficult to go back.

I bought the clothes and got a membership at the Y.  I also signed up for a 5k and started training for that so I would not embarrass myself.  I will walk most of it and hope to finish in under 55 minutes.

Also, I just came to accept that exercise is no different than any other meds or plan prescribed by my surgeon.

I made it to the Y and did 1 hour weights for lower and upper body.  I was going to call it a day, but I went outside and it was fairly cool, at least for South Texas, with a nice breeze and figured why not go for a short walk.  Well, the advantage of walking out and back is that once you reach a point, you have to go back.  At the 1 mile mark, I felt pretty good so I decided to go for 5K.  I ended up going 3.25 miles in 57 minutes.  Tomorrow will probably be an off day.
