I actually couldn't burp for a long time. The pressure build up from that was uncomfortable. Now I can, but they're small (in line with tthe smaller stomach I guess?). What I still have now is a lot of gurgling that sounds a bit like a burp, but is uncontrollable. It just gurgles up my esophagus. A little embarrassing because you can't stop or stifle it.

I too have constant burping after every other swallow. I am really trying hard to be cautious about now swallowing air but I guess it's unavoidable. At first it was really painful but it's much easier to tolerate now. I guess it'll take time my friend. I really feel for ya - walking also really helps me get a bunch of big belches out and relieves it later.

I don't think I burped much at all immediately post-op and now it is like normal. What is different is the gurgling in my intestines that starts about 1/2 hour after I eat (I'm not sure I had that until I was on full solids).

It will gradually subside. Try gas-x strips that dissolve in your mouth. DS

It will die down trust me! I'm 5 months post op and I would say I'm close to normal burping wise. The first couple weeks were brutal though lol My family kept making fun of me, it was insane, but it won't last forever. It may take awhile to get back to what is normal to you, but it will get better.

Good luck to you in your recovery.

No burping here. Just hiccups. Which is a new thing. Mostly after spicy food.
