A coffee filter in the strainer works wonders!

Have fun scrapping!  I've dabbled in it and have lots of paraphenalia, but have only completed 2 pages in the past 10 years or so!  I never seem to get beyond the planning stage.  :)

I'm chuckling at this talk of scrap booking because I'm so undomesticated that I don't even really know what it is. My understanding of it is quite limited and undoubtedly I'll keep it that way because I'm definitely not the sentimental or the crafting type. Lol it's only recently that I discovered that what I called a photo album is now called a scrap book!  Ha ha.

I've been "scrapping" for 18 years now and must have over 20 completed albums (each 12X12 and about 4 inches thick). My boy's lives are fully documented and I actually went back and have done some of my childhood, my wedding and family vacations as well.

When I was heavy, it was a good excuse to not get involved in the activity because I had to take the pictures to document the activity. I do enjoy it though and hopefully someday the boys will appreciate having the memories to reflect back on.

Hello fellow journey takers!  The scale was the same today - 205.2.  But, food was better yesterday, so I was ok when I got on the scale this morning, with its results.  I chose to eat more than a tablespoon or 2 of the risotto I made with dinner last night, though I didn't have lots, so I own the number and am ok with it.

Been trying to respond and post for over an hour now.  Work is definitely cramping !  :)  Lots going on the next few days.  My oldest is helping put on a surprise 18th birthday party for her bestie on Saturday, and I said I'd make some things and help.  Sunday will be our day to do lots of yard work.  It's supposed to be sunny in the 60's, and the yard is a wreck.  Monday we go up to UMaine Orono with the oldest to the accepted students day.  We have an appointment with someone in financial aid that afternoon to see if we can get some more help than what was initially offered.  It's like one big game of chess, I'm finding.  Hopefully we'll be old pros at it by the time the younger one is ready to go to college.  As much as my oldest is high maintenance and the tone of our home is so much quieter and relaxed when she's not there, I'm starting to have those moments when I start crying out of nowhere and get that "oh no, my baby is leaving the nest" feelings.  I know it's normal, but still heart wrenching.  I know she'll do fine, though, so it decreases my worries.

Have a great Thursday.  One more day to the weekend!

Hugs, Mary

Greetings busy people:

Sounds like you all have lots planned to do which is  a good thing.  I am still working on my taxes. We are not going to owe anything this year but why does it take 20 sheets of paper to tell them that!   What part of "0" do they not understand?

And furthermore, I am up to 131 again.  I am truly eating properly but indulge in a  little extra red wine. Now I gotta cut back on that and start wearing out the fit bit.   Hubby's fit bit that he has had for 6 years finally sort of fell apart. He duct taped it together and it still works.  I am on my fourth one as I have lost a couple and ran one through the wash.

We had a big storm last night but the flowers I planted appeared to have survived.

We have been watching a series called "The Outlander" set in Scotland.  There is a moderate amount of nudity - especially the boobs of the main woman character who is lovely.  But as I watch I think "I have better boobs than that chick". Nice to feel good about some aspect of my 64 year old self. Tee Hee.

late check in;

Food still a bit too loose. 196+ again. Got to rein it in soon. Not sure what exactly is holding me up.

Off to a show this afternoon. Judging sweepstakes classes for American Staffordshire Terriers, Airedales, Kerry Blues, and Russell Terriers. Should be fun. Hoped to go into the weekend a few pounds lighter, but I own my behavior, so I'm not at all disappointed in the number on the scale. It is deserved.

Thank goodness I had the day off today. Took Ella to the vet due to horrible, horrible rear leg limping. It came on suddenly about 2 weeks ago. I thought it was soft tissue damage that she kept re-injuring. I was glad that it wasn't patella (knee) related (thinking of Sadie), but got sick to my stomach when hip dysplasia was mentioned. I agreed to the x-rays (always a good idea in a case like this) and my vet thinks the hips get a thumbs up, but is sending the radiographs to a radiologist to make certain she's right. So, hopefully, I win with the soft tissue strain diagnosis. Please keep your fingers crossed. It may sound silly, but this one and I bonded the minute she came out of her mama. There was just something about her and she thinks the same about me. I'd hate to have to place her.
