Good morning!  Taking a little time to myself before all the errands, hair appointments, cookout, etc. that goes on for opening night.  Got through yesterday fairly well unscathed!  I did scoff down two not so healthy "protein bars", as we were going out for lunch late - one of them, or better yet, a hard boiled egg that was in the fridge, would have been enough.  Otherwise, I didn't snac****il about 8, and it was a single serving piece of fresh mozzarella.  Dinner wasn't until after 10.  I'm drinking my coffee, and waiting for the plumbing to work, so I haven't weighed myself yet, though I'm not worried.

Diane, have fun with your yard work!

Dress rehearsal went well!  I felt badly for the dancers, including my oldest daughter, in the opening big production number.  They have nailed their kick lines in all of the practices, in the studio, etc.  Last night, the backstage speakers went out and no one on stage could hear the music, even though we could in the audience, so their kicks were not together and it looked so sloppy.  Hopefully, when they film tonight, the music will be heard.  Both my girls did a fabulous job!  My little one has ADD, so sometimes her attention strays, but she was on target.  She had asked to take her meds for recital, as she knows herself and wants to do a good job.  I was on such a high after my one routine, as, for the first time ever on stage, I got through the whole thing without a mistake!!  Hopefully that will carry over to tonight and tomorrow!  :)

Have a great weekend everyone!  It sounds like we're all going to be busy.

Hugs, Mary

127.8. Phooey. Couldn't have possibly eaten enough to have caused that gain - and we didn't even have Hibachi last night as Dh had a migraine (his first, poor guy).

Birthday celebrations today!

Hang tight Paula!  These small fluctuations are not always understandable but they sort themselves out.

Stellar Saturday, Friends and Family!

121.7

A potpourri of thoughts:

I am at 99,991 steps for the week so far (Sun-Fri)  I wish I could walk 9 more steps today and then be 100,000 on the dot for the week.  But that would mean that I would have to roll around for the rest of the day instead of using my feet so I suppose that isn't realistic.

That volume of steps won't last.  My daily target is just 7000 I don't always reach.  This last week I used quick walks at work as my "self soothing" mechanism instead of reaching into my snack drawer which is empty anyway.  I even begged off a lunch time meeting, citing the need for a mental health walk.  Also, Buster and I have been hitting Nike hill at night to get us both in better shape for summer hikes.  Buster's waist is beginning to show again.

On being a thin person: A new employee described me as "the thin pharmacist" to our admin assistant. The AA is one of my best friends so she couldn't wait to tell me, particularly since the other pharmacist wouldn't be thought of as overweight.  As she continued our usual chit-chat, I was unable to listen.  My inner thoughts fluctuated between the marvel of being described as thin and pathetically wanting to ask "as in too thin?"

Turkey breast:  I did a bone in turkey breast in the instant pot a couple weeks ago. It was surprisingly great as long as you keep in mind that my bar for good turkey breast is pretty low.  Certainly more fuss than just buying ready made from Costco but I liked that it is low sodium, less expensive and better flavor. (Take THAT Costco employee #3!)    I have another one in the IP this morning.  I put a rub on it, added big chunks of  leaks/celery/carrots/garlic and a few hunks of ginger.  28 minutes on manual, 10 minutes of natural release and then quick release.  Look! It is ready for quick release now!

Ok, I'm back.

Puppies:  I want to move into the Devon's puppy pen.  I'm glad that no one witnessed how long I examined those pictures on a day that I had no business doing so. Nice muscles on the human, too :)

Recital week:  I think I must be the only person on this forum that hates recital week.  But, I love recitals.  I always give the adult classes a whoot-whoot because besides having a good number, their sense of fun shines thru each dancer.  Whoot-whoot to you, Mary!  And how cool is it that you can self-identify as "dancer!?"  Whenever you are feeling down, remember that.  Maybe spark your jazz hands for emphasis.

Enjoy the day.  Thanks for sharing your journey.    Shel

Wow Shel, all of those steps!  You are a walking machine!!!

Thanks for the kind words!  I finally again, not since I was 14, feel like a dancer!
