Last work day in April: It is hard to believe that May begins on Monday. However even on Cape Cod the trees are budding and blooming now (we are always later than when the rest of Massachusetts). We went for a walk on the beach yesterday and it was warm enough to do so without a jacket.

Weight 116.5, calories 1226. We went out for $5 burger night last night and I ate some salty stuff, but not too bad on calories for the day. We met for a couple of hours with an intake person for the Cape Cod Alzheimer's support organization. DH and I will be going to Support groups monthly which meet at the same time (one for the "patient" and one for the caregiver). They all have early Alzheimer's and had professionals jobs prior to diagnosis so DH should feel some commonality.

I hope you all have a great Friday!

Slept so well last night. And my weight is back down below my 100 pound weight loss goal (135.6). Any weight under that is gravy. So to speak. ;)

Yesterday was a very good day -- another wonderful yoga class, a joyful "yoga tea" with the class (a biannual event). And then during a quick trip to JCPenney I found two hard-working young men who were helping to clean up there after recent roof damage and flooding. I hired them to come out to the house in the afternoon to help us clean up our post-storm wreckage prior to our weekend company. It's good to know when to ask for help. And it's even better to find people who are GREAT at helping you. I will use these guys for some other projects that have been freaking me out a bit. Thanks, universe!

Due to the weekend forecast for more big rains and floods, our weekend family visitor contingent has now shrunk from 8 people to 4 to 2. Frankly, I don't blame them for being scared off. In any event, if we lose power we can entertain and feed 2 visitors much more easily than 8. And if it turns out to be a little scary, it'll make a good family story for years to come. It's all good. :)

That support group sounds wonderful, especially since it has previous professionals in it!

137.something. Down a bit thank goodness.

Did too much yesterday and arm is swollen and sore today. Also only got about 4 hours of sleep. Phooey!

Prom this weekend. DS#2's dress is stunning. Hard to believe he made it himself. He is quite proud of it! I'm the professional photographer at the Prom, so I should have some pics to share for sure!

Happy Friday Friends!

If he wouldn't mind and you have his permission, I would love to see him in his prom dress. Please tell him I understand. When I went to HS no one had the courage to do what he is doing. Even those of us who suspected someone else might be gay, didn't discuss it. It was just too scary and dangerous to our safety. I'm very impressed by his strength of character.

209. Stayed on plan, walked a lot, drank tons and yet the scale is still creeping upwards. I went to a support group meeting last night, but was a little late. The group has quite a few hijackers so I did not address any of my issues. One woman chimes in about everything and anything. Another person was saying that bread is her trigger, she cannot eat any kind of bread without it opening the flood gates of cravings. The hijacker interrupts to say she eats a sandwich every day, and she should try Ezekial bread... The other woman reiterates that she cannot have a bite of any bread without triggering cravings. The hijacker continued talking about Ezekial until another hijacker cut her off and barked that if she cut out the bread, maybe she would start losing weight. Apparently, she had just been complaining that her weight loss stopped and the sleeve does not work for her. It was a little mean but funny at the same time.

If you have seen the animated movie Inside Out about the emotions of a little girl's brain - anger, joy, sadness..., this first hijacker is the personification of that part of my own brain that is a know-it-all and sabotages itself. And this will be how I plan to fight myself to stay ontrack.

Nothing new or interesting in group, but still comforting to see some old friends amongst the newbies.

Time for a walk.

Loved that movie! I even cried a little! Such a great story.

I HATE people like Hijacker Hussy. I have also been known to HURT people like her. Of course, only with words. ;)
