Wt unchanged. Eating unchanged... I think I see a pattern.

DD did her first night alone with baby. not much rest. Better plan for last night we will see. I am building muscle holding her. LOL. DW put her in the swing yesterday and I thought, I could hold her. But I guess we need to not hold her all the time. Never mind what am I saying I am going to hold her all the time. She already holds her head up off my shoulder.

DW made a profound statement Nothing quite so hopeful as a new born baby. Totally innocent, totally dependent, opportunity for nurture and the future is wide open for unlimited success.

Hold on to hope.

More later, David

Oh, David, what a sweet, sweet post! I can feel your joy across the state line. :)

So much news in the group of late. Joey, good to hear from you. Liz, I want to learn more about your surgery. Cecily, sounds like you may lose some more weight on your post-surgery diet. I'm enjoying everyone else?s doggy, exercise, holiday, decorating, remodeling, family, work, retirement and weather stories.

Yesterday's 8 V/Fs came from an apple, greens, carrots, plantains, black beans, more greens, bamboo shoots, more carrots, and a mango. Knee continues to improve. And last night I was able to sleep in bed, although knee pain woke me up at 2:00 am and I've been puttering ever since.

Hubby continues to feel better--such a joy for me! Today we are going to attend his cardio rehab Christmas luncheon, which I always enjoy, partly because I get to dress up a bit. He's pretty tight with these folks, having hung out there 3 times a week for the last 12 years since his heart bypass surgery. The two nurses who run the program are awesome (Paula, they must be just like you!), and know that if I needed help in any way I could call and they'd show up at our door. A great plus is that they adore hubby who's pretty easy to adore. #SmallTownBenefits

This morning is aquarobics class. I hope my knee's continuing improvement will permit some walking around the property this weekend. It is SO HARD not to push myself to exercise more right now. I struggle to change my thinking about recovery and restoration -- that it's not slacking but another form of self-care. Such a hard lesson to learn.

Today's theme: T.G.I.F.

Paula, I've been meaning to tell you that we loved your family's Christmas card and your Christmas letter. So well done!

We had a great time at hubby's cardio rehab party today. There were about 60 people in the room -- patients and many of their spouses. It's a lovely group. Hubby and I ate with the two nurses who run the program, and three other nurses, now retired who used to work with the program, and a cardio doctor also attended. It's a wonderful community!

Nothing is more hopeful! I'd be trying to build my baby holding muscles if I were you too Dave.

Weight 117.2, calories 80 (LOL). I had my eyelid/ brow surgery yesterday morning and really didn't feel like eating the remainder of the day, though I made myself eat some cottage cheese. I am somewhat hungry this morning, so I should get back to a regular schedule.

Thats all I have right now as I can't see great with the swelling. BUT the pain meds are working well (I didn't take them after the last PS because of nausea, so the surgeon gave me different ones). Regardless I have very little pain. Time to go put ice on!

I hope Cecily did well on Wednesday. I am unable to read at length in case she reported in.

Have a factorial Friday!

When you're fully recovered, Liz, I'd love to debrief you on the phone about your PS face stuff. I'm considering ....

Sure - I had upper/lower blepharoplasty as well as an endoscopic brow lift. I look pretty weird and swollen today and my hair is slicked back out of the way with gel. I'd make a good monster right now. I get to take a shower on Sunday thank goodness. Once I start to look a bit more human I'll supply pictures.

There really isn't any true pain today (and it was pretty minimal yesterday). I took a pain pill 8 hours ago and don't feel the need for another (though I might take one before bed)

I have a lot of swelling and bruising around my eyes right now (2 days Post-op). In theory that will start going down over the next few days and I shoul be presentable with makeup in 7-10 days. I hope so...

Liz, so glad to hear that the surgery went as expected. Your 80 calories made me laugh, too! Rest and recover....
