Won't bother listing yesterday's 9 V/F servings (you've heard of them all), except to say I'm really into berries at the moment.

Today will be a busy day with yoga class, shopping errands, hair color/cut, lunch out, my first physical therapy appointment for my neck nerve/finger numbness issues, and an early St. Patrick's Day ****tail party tonight at the local country club. Yes, our little town has one of those. And no, I'm not a member.

BTW, I know that I'm incredibly privileged to type the words "busy day" and not be referring to "job" work, which used to consume my days and nights. I loved working when I worked. And I love so much not doing it now. And I'm back, full circle, to that turn, turn, turn theme of a few days ago.

Today's reprised theme: To every time there is a season.

Weight 117.2, calories 1276. It felt like more as we went out to lunch and dinner yesterday, both at great places (dinner on the water in Clearwater). It was a long but fun day. Our friends have a beautiful condo in a high rise on the beach with an expansive view of water and multiple pools. Kind of like living in the city (Marie used to have a condo in a chic area of Boston). So different than our little residential park where everyone knows everyone else and we can walk to almost all activities. Though I would love their view and the convenience of walking to all the great restaurants and shops, I think where we are suits us better especially for DH, so I'm going to eliminate the small amount of envy I felt.

Ann, it sounds like you are busy which is a good thing right now.

I'm trying for a low calorie eating day today to average out with my birthday tomorrow. My plan tomorrow is to have lunch at a beachside restaurant and celebrate my birthday with the best grouper and coconut pie ever eaten. I did the same thing last year.

Have a truly good Thursday!

I love grouper! I would pick Key lime for the pie myself! Your birthday plans sound perfect! Enjoy!

What is grouper like? We don't have that on the west coast.

Good morning, all!

Devon, just read your blog. That pain is so familiar to anyone with a weight problem. While I recognize the nightmare, I also equally recognize that the number on the scale isn't the measure of your worth, not even by a small percentage. That is so obvious! Lots of hugs. I wish I had something more to offer.

On a more positive note, I am thrilled for Keira's news! And, BB's joy! Ann, I have been into berries, too. They are not in season, yet there they are. Liz, your Florida home sounds wonderful, in every way, thanks to your decision making.

Off to work out, then to work. I packed 80% of the stuff for the trip yesterday. Should have most of the rest of it done tonight and then just a small grocery run on Friday night. We leave Sat morning after my 6am workout!

Have a joyful day,

Shel

Man, was this board quiet yesterday ! I was glad to see Liz and Ann had already checked in today !

My visit to the cardiologist was interesting. He received the records from my former cardiologist indicating prolonged QT interval and aortic valvar stenosis. My EKG showed some irregularities so I'm wearing a Holter monitor for the next 48 hours and an echocardiogram is scheduled for next week. I've been having some dizziness and heart palpitations / fluttering in bed. Funny, I can shovel heavy snow for extended periods of time with no break and have no pain, dizziness, palpitations or shortness of breath. He's thinking the leaking/regurgitation at my aortic valve is increasing. He performs the TAVR (transcatheter aortic valve replacement) procedure, which is the least invasive. Time will tell.

I'm not counting my weight for the next two days because I'm all hooked up to the monitor, but with all of that on, my weight was the same today as yesterday. Interesting, my blood pressure was 100/60 sitting and 90/60 standing. I forgot to ask about that. I'll pick up some corned beef on sale after Saturday, and Sunday we go check out a highly recommended kennel 8 miles away. It looks great online, and interactions with the owner have been positive.

Turn, turn, turn works for me !!

Diane, so happy that the TAVR is available to you should you need it! Your BP is a bit on the low side and could be causing some of your light headedness. Do you take any blood pressure medications or perhaps a beta blocker for your heart rhythm? I have to take Metoprolol for my heart rhythm problems and my pressure often runs in the mid to high 80's for the top number. I often get light headed. A key is to change position slowly and eat more salt (which I don't like!)!
