yes we are!!

I am a bit of a pessimist by nature and am really trying to change that. Though these times have been challenging me at my optimism and I believe my theme for the year was something to the effect of being present/embracing the now. It always amazes me how even tough times you can look back and they weren't so bad! There is good in every day and every season and we are here so let's embrace that!

Oh Shel, how cruel! I just had a round trip to the bathroom so I'm too exhausted to find a mirror for a pic, but here's me in my chair for the last 8 days...

I just couldn't do a face photo. I'm just too ugly for words at the moment... That cougar attack of the bikers was terrible. We had a similar attack at a wilderness area right near me a few years ago. I feel terrible for the people and for the cougar who had to be destroyed.

Oh, I was just joking about pics! but, your lower body looks so tidy! And manicured!

I felt sorry for cougar, too but then more mixed on the whole subject when the natural resources guy said "usually, humans are not on the menu." So. That.

He apparently was well underweight, so he must have been an unwell cougar to go after people...

Ah, I hadn't seen that. That would make more sense. A report I saw described him as healthy or good condition....something like that.

One report also said that the person who died was a woman but most other reports have said both bikers were men. Eventually, the details will get sorted out.

Very, very sad, all the way around.

OMG Shel! You don't think about things like that happening these days, but it is still wild enough I guess.

Paris in September sounds ahhmazing!

My sister "twin" just arrived in Barcelona this morning. I loved Barcelona and wouldn't mind a return trip. She will then be making her way to Paris and who knows where else. She studied abroad in paris and is now essentially "backpacking" since she feels this is her last summer ever to enjoy since she'll be taking boards next summer.

I haven't been to Ireland, but I did love Edinburgh. My husband would love all the geology there!

Weight 158.8.

Up a tad this week despite what I considered a really successful week of eating. I gave up debating these issues with the scales and reclaimed my needed "reward for doing well" sence of being by going into the closet and trying on clothes that were too snug on me a month ago. Yay and hooray- it amazes me how the body shows changes even when the scale does not.

I am at the end of a food-logging diary for this last year (started May 18,2017). Started at 275 and this morning the scales ended the diary at 158.8. Thank God for some mercy and grace gifted in this area.

You so belong in this group! I am an outlier and don't participate much in record keeping but I appreciate a lovely chart and the labor that went into it as the art that it is.
