Carbs are not the devil!

It took 30 minutes of sitting with the dietician on Tuesday to convince me of that, but I'm pretty much sold. Forget this limiting carbs to under 40 crap. I can't do it. I wasn't eating any fruits or vegetables really, and was doing 100 g protein. I've reduced my protein to 80 and my carbs have been around 60-80 and I feel SO MUCH BETTER. I've had much more energy, and my work outs have resumed. I'm only really adding carbs with fruits and veggies - not doing any starches or bread or anything like that since it won't do much for my body.

I had a great week with my work outs - set a new PR for the 5K and completed a pretty decent brick workout (bike followed by a run). I'm itching to do a triathalon - i'm thinking of getting some swim lessons soon so I can start devoting some time to that part of it. I really have tried to get into it, but i just suck at it.

I found a protein powder I totally love. Its a soy protein powder i discovered in NOLA. Its something like Vi-Shape or something. Its a sweet cream flavor. 90 cal, 20 g protein, no sugar, a few carbs. I mix it with some very low sugar soy milk and a few frozen strawberries and its amazing. Considering how much I hate protein powders, I was surprised how much I like this. Maybe it's the soy rather than whey...
