Holy Cow!! Does that mean I'm a Loser??

Jul 31, 2010

Well, I'm home in my own chair, which has got to be good!!  Here's as much of my story as I can remember... So, I got to the hospital at 730 in the am for a 1030 surgery time. I got wrapped up in my bair paws gown and hooked to an iv. I met the anesthesiologist, who was really nice, and promised to use a small tube on me to not hurt my vocal chords, which I use a LOT! They wheeled me back into the OR, and I was like wow they keep it bright in here. Dr anesthesiologist said let me give you some medicine for that, and the next thing I remember is people telling me You did great, you're all done...

I was SO groggy... and tired,... I had a squeezy bulb thing in one of my hands, so I squeezed it in my half consciousness... Yeah, it was my JP drain, so I had to be changed out of everything and get all new sheets... And, still all I can say is, What was it doing in my hand when I woke up?? Spazola!!

My iron had been 10.1 when I got there, which was not too much of a surprise, tanked some more to 8.6 this morning... I had some trouble with pain on breathing, but it turns out it was mostly from the jp drain cuz once they took that out, I could breathe again fine... At first, I had a delodid (sp?) pain pump, but it was making me so crazy groggy and dizzy that I got rid of it. Once I did that, I have been doing great with tylenol during the day and tylenol codeine at night...

Iron is still one to be watched, and I can't have lovenox until Monday because of the iron levels, so I'm walking like crazy to make sure I don't get a blood clot. But, I did well, I feel pretty good, and I'm home!! My hubby is off buying me a recliner because our couches are not conducive to recovery but other than that, I'm doing well!!

Now, I'm going away from the keyboard and elevate my hand... Oh, yeah, my iv got infiltrated and now my whole arm is hot and swollen and I'm supposed to elevate it and alternate heat and ice, grr!!

Huggles!!
