on September 16, 2011 5:29 pm
I am offically a college freshman! (Whoop Whoop! Yeah Buddy!!!) Sorry I get a little carried away sometimes :) Anyway, being in college and being a post-op patient of gastic bypass is not as bad as i imagined. I thought i would have struggled but nope!  I eat way better than when I am home and I work out about 3-4 times a week. Plus, boys are noticing my slim body now! SOme cute and some creepy!! But so far so good. I now weigh 186.6 and by november i want to be around 160ish! So let's hope for the best!

So far this weight loss journey has definitely been rollercoaster ride!  Going into to the surgery I expected to lose an incredible amount of weight in such a little time but that is definitely not the case! The scale is nowhere near being my bff. However, I do know that i have lost weight because sizes that i dreamed of fitting me, now fit me but the numbers on the scale are moving. So i have choosen to forget the scale and just do what i have to instead of becoming discouraged and going into a state of teenaged deression -_- Hopefully in a month's time when i step back onto a scale I wil see numbers that I like!! Wish me Luck!!!

Losers Bench So Far....
on June 13, 2011 9:46 am
So I am officially a week post-op! (I've been dying to say that for months!!!) And So far I have lost only 12 lbs which is a lot for one week and I am still adjusting to my new life. I have to say that the way I pictured life before the surgery is completely different than what I'm experiencing now, blame my wild imagination.
I thought that when I saw my family eating foods that will take months for me to start eating again and the foods that I LOVED that are just big NO-NOS, I pictured myself crying for hours and hating the world and my decision. But I am dealing with it better than expected, of course I become jealous whenever i see a mcchicken being eating but I get over it.

Anyway, I was looking through my closet the other day and found that pile of clothes i put in the corner because they could never fit, and my mom pressured me into to trying them on and to my surprise most of them FIT! and when I say fit, I mean jeans could button with no problem and were kinda loose on me! Can you believe it? cus I couldn't !!! I almost fell into tears i was so surprised. I even get second glances from friends (who do not know that I have had the surgery) and the look of confusion and surprise on their face speaks to my shrinking body.

As of today, I am maintaing to get as many liquids in and the amount of protein that I am supposed to get. It is definitely not easy and takes up a lot of time but the reward is worth all the pain !

Till Next Time!!!

My Story

Hello everyone! My name is Ashli and I had RNY Gastric Bypass on June 6, 2011. Before myu surgery, i weighed 241. That was my highest weight ever and i was only 18 years old. I decided to have the surgery when i realised that something had to be done and i needed help with that "something" because I obviously couldn't do it myself. So I had the surgery and so far i have lost 62 lbs. I also did the surgery with my mother and together we are both living a new life.

I am struggling and trying to handle the pressure of college life, weight loss, stalls, and dieting properly. At times it gets hard but I always manage to find myslef back on track.
