Well, its 2.5 years later, and I haven't had surgery. Things have really changed for me. I've moved back to my home state (Wisconsin) and divorced my husband. These big upheavals deterred me from pursuing weight loss surgery until now. I've had to restart the process here in wisconsin, but it seems things are moving more quickly for me.I have an appt for a gall bladder ultra sound, and an appt for a psych exam. I'm not worried about either of these. I know some people get nervous about the psych exam, but i've been through 2 before and 'passed.' And now i feel even more ready than i was in the past.
I'm in therapy specifically to deal with reasons for my weight issues. It's been hard work. I write alot about my thoughts regarding food, and other addictions. This helps me get it out and tangible so i can work on it.
My surgeon wants me to lose 25 more pounds before surgery. That should take about 3-4 months. Its not a requirement, but I let myself get so big that I'm right on the cusp of having to have an open surgery. That scares me to death.
