XPOST - My endocrinologist appointment...I am normal

Nov 18, 2009

==This is a duplicate of a VSG forum post that I felt was blog worthy my numbers are looking good==

The endocrinologist scale is 4 pounds less than mine fully clothed so 268 instead of the 272 out of the shower 1 hour earlier.

A1C (measures average  blood sugar over three months)  6.0, down from 11.5 when diabetes was first diagnosed  October 2008 and 8.5 preop.   Considered normal range.

Fasting Glucose 81, 173 when first diagnosed and about 114 on the previous few fasting tests.

Blood pressure 100/70 have always been on the high side of normal138/88 but not enough for meds.

I did have to decrease my thryroid medication, they said with the weight loss I have too much circulating T4 even though I have not felt bad as a result but I need to adjust meds and visit again in nine weeks.

With this blood test review diabetes is offically in remission.  Goodbye Metformin, Byetta, and Lisinopril, all I take now is Levothyroxine for my thyroid.
