My Trek to KC

Jul 23, 2010

Yesterday was my appointment with the surgeon.  I got good reviews from everyone.  All is well.  I only lost six pounds, but nobody was too concerned about that, except for me.  Since I have to drive to the big city to see my surgeon and his team, I made a day of it.  I had a mini-emergency immediately.  My Garmin and my phone would not charge on the trip.  I figured it was a blown fuse, but I've never changed one.  Without my phone and the Garmin, I might as well have gone home.  So, I took my car into a dealership instead.  The guys there changed out my fuse at no charge.  I know that sounds like a simple fix, but it is hard for me to ask for help.  So, this was a personal victory for me.  I asked and received help.

I drove around and found some consignment shops, where I found a new wardrobe which cost me about the same as adding a few pieces to my wardrobe would have at full cost.  One consignment shop was just for plus sizes, which I still am.  It was great shopping there.  I found a lot.  I went to another consignment shop (from kids to plus).  It was crowded and had less, but most of the things I got there were 50% off, so it was very inexpensive.

Having clothes that fit makes me feel thinner.   It's helping me embrace this changing body of mine.  As always, I'm grateful for all the patient souls who read my blog.  God bless you on your own journey of weight loss.
